About Us

Serving You Has Been Our Family’s Mission Since 1962

Leonard Insurance Agency was founded in 1962 by Norman B. Leonard. He was outgoing, friendly, and enjoyed working with people on a daily basis. For the next three decades, he would earn a vast amount of respect from the Mifflintown, PA, community.

His son, Norman J. (Jeff) Leonard, joined the agency in the mid-1980s and purchased it from his father in 1993. Ryan J. Leonard, Jeff’s son, joined the agency in 2005 and worked to transition the company into the digital age. In the following years, he took on increasing managerial duties, providing his father the time to join several community organizations.

In 2018, Ryan purchased the agency due to Jeff’s unexpected passing. However, Ryan continues to operate the agency with the same ideals and values his father and grandfather promoted, and he plans to continue running the agency in the same fashion that they taught him. Personal service, quality care, and long-term relationships with clients were, are, and will be the backbones of Leonard Insurance Agency.
